The Lycette’s Bangor, Maine Peony Garden

I got to photograph this stunning peony garden on Ohio Street in Bangor, ME for the June 2023 Down East Magazine. Roger and Sally have devoted the last 25 years to planting a glorious peony collection among other perennials in their urban backyard. Completely overwhelmed by the beauty and diversity of the peonies, I was completely over the moon to stumble into the “Forever Friends Forest” at the back of the property, where Sally used to run a daycare and paths and features are still named after former students.
